Main objective
The Trust Fund's main objectives are: to contribute to analytical work on the key development challenges facing Zimbabwe and to develop suitable instruments that can enable both the Government of Zimbabwe and the donors to the Trust Fund to respond quickly to challenges in conditions for re-engagement. Improved donor coordination is an expected benefit from the activities and synergies supported under the Trust Fund. The MDTF will support the implementation of demand-driven activities in furtherance of the objectives and themes of the Interim Strategy Note of enhanced country knowledge, economic regeneration, and development mechanisms for quick re-engagement. Activities may include:
(i) Pilot Surveys, studies and study tours designated to enhance country knowledge and prepare a framework for a future MDTF.
(ii)Pilot activities identified under activity (i) to address capacity issues, monitoring and evaluation, and financing priorities in the health sector to facilitate improved capacity and accountability in such areas as health services and budgeting.
(iii) Forums and workshops aiming at developing a framework to facilitate the coordination and contributions of partners to address priority development issues in Zimbabwe, enhance donor harmonization, and provide input for dialogue with Zimbabwe on strategic issues.
