General information
CARE International signed an agreement amounting to SEK 24,8 million with Sida for the period January 2007 to December 2011 for implementing the Kupfuma Ishungu Rural Microfinance Programme, a programme that aims to build poverty mitigation mechanisms for por and voulnerable households by training them on how to mobilise and manage their financial resourses. SEK 4 447 000 was distributed in 2007. CARE signed MOUs with five other implementing partners namely CADEC, ASAP, Batsiranayi, Zimbabwe Women's Bureau and Chitungwiza Utano Project. A total of 86 community training sessions resulting in the formation of 1 267 groups with 9 149 individuals were held. In an effort to make use of the gatherings CARE in conjunction with the five implementing partners conducted 3 sessions on child rights and 4 HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns.
