To identify and assist victims of organised violence and torture (OVT) medically, psychologically and with rehabilitation, and to document human rights violations with respect to OVT.

Results
CSU is reporting a steady increase in the number of victims for the past year, especially since the election of 29th of March 2008. CSU is struggling with deteriorating health services and an environment where medical staff is harassed and threatened. Even so, CSU has been able to assist an increasing number of OVTs, and to forensically document all clients. The daily average of new clients per day was 3 in the pre-election period, in April the daily average was 10, and in May increasing to 45 (figures as per 12th of May 2008).
