General information
The programme seeks to address the food and nutrition security for households and communities affected by HIV/AIDS in Kwekwe rural and Gweru urban districts during the period January 2007 to June 2010. A total of 127 nursery farmers, 90 women and 37 men were trained in the project areas in 2007. The training include an exchange visit to prominent sweet potato farmers in Shurugwi. A total of 300 000 vines where distributed to beneficiaries. The project procured 8 tonnes of compound D fertiliser, 4 tonnes of cowpeas, 7 tonnes of soya beans, 3 tonnes of sugar beans and 2 tonnes of groundnuts to be distributed to all the 4000 beneficiaries. A total of 294 farmers where trained in conservation farming.
