About the Consulate General

The Honorary Consulate General consists of:

Section for Consular Affairs

Handles issues relating to passports, residence permits based on personal connection and emergency assistance. Visas for residents of the San Francisco Bay Area/Northern California are processed only at the Consulate General in Los Angeles.

Section for Information and Culture

Facilitates cultural exchange between Sweden and the US, organizes and promotes cultural events and provides information about Sweden and Swedish activities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Science & Technology Office

The primary mission of the Science and Technology Office is to facilitate cooperation in research and development and other exchange of knowledge between Sweden and the United States.
