The International Training Programmes (ITP) are one of several methods used by Sida for capacity development. The focus on long-term knowledge and competence development constitutes major features in development cooperation and the International Training Programmes reflect this priority in a very clear way.
The programmes cover areas of strategic importance to social and economic development of co-operation countries and are based in identified priorities and needs. In the long term perspective, the programme shall contribute to institutional strengthening and capacity development in the co-operating countries.
