The Consulate General of Sweden in New York facilitates commercial exchange and promotes Swedish companies and business ventures in the United States. The Section for Economic and Commercial Affairs prioritizes and works primarily in the following areas:

Life Science
The United States is the world's largest consumer market for pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Sweden successfully exports a range of life science products to the U.S.

Environmental Technology
The U.S. accounts for approximately 40 percent of the global environmental technology market. Bio-energy, energy efficiency, sustainable building and waste-to-energy are some sectors where Sweden is at the forefront.

Capital Markets
New York is one of the most important financial centers in the world and, as such, has considerable impact on Swedish, European and global markets.

Service Industries
Sweden has considerable export potential in many service sectors, including advertising, education and consulting services.

Creative Industries
The U.S., and specifically New York, is home to many of the largest and most important creative companies in the world. Prioritized fields include design, music and fashion.

The Consulate General of Sweden in New York promotes Swedish business in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC, the Consulate General of Sweden in Los Angeles, Invest in Sweden Agency, the Swedish Trade Council, VisitSweden and the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce.
