While successful in the past, the Nordic model is facing increasingly serious challenges in the future.
Is the Nordic welfare state viable in conditions of globalization and aging populations?
What reforms are needed?
What can other countries learn from the experience of the Nordic countries?
In a new report on the Nordic Model, a closer look is taken at the characteristics and performance of the Nordic Approach to social and economic development, as well as the challenges and prospects for its viability in the longer term.
The seminar will provide an opportunity for dialogue and discussion on these issues with prominent ecomonic experts from both sides of the Atlantic, as well as a presentation of the report by one of its authors, Professor Hans Tson Söderström of the Stockholm School of Economics, former head of SNS - the Swedish Center for Business and Policy Studies.
