Voices - Contemporary Ceramic Art from Sweden

In Anna Lindh Hall, the main exhibit of the fall theme also provides the name for the theme.

Voices contains works by ten pioneering Swedish ceramic artists: Frida Fjellman, Renata Francescon, Eva Hild, Pontus Lindvall, Mårten Medbo, AnnaSofia Mååg, Gustaf Nordenskiöld, Kjell Rylander, Per B Sundberg, Kennet Williamsson.

In curating this exhibition, Inger Molin has chosen artists from different generations with vastly different styles and points of view, creating an exhibition that reflects not only change but the diversity of Swedish ceramics created today.

The common thread is that they all represent - and are the leading exponents for - the dynamics and originality of contemporary ceramic art.

Free in their relationship to traditional ceramic art, they seek new directions and emphasize freedom of expression. No longer is the material important, but rather the statement made by the ceramic artist.
