Croatia tour by Swedish university chorus

Linköping University Male Voice Choir, one of Sweden’s most distinguished male choirs, performs in Zagreb on September 4 and in Pula on September 8.

The touring choir consists of 30 singers and presents also the cellist and composer Beata Söderberg and the pianist Gunnar Cedersund. Conductor is Hans Lundgren, music director at Linköping University.

On the programme are music by composers such as Carl Orff and Camille Saint-Saëns and Swedish music By Hugo Alfvén and others. Furthermore the choir present music by Beata Söderberg and a premier performance of “Funeral Blues” with word by W.H. Auden and music by Hans Lundgren.

The choir was formed in 1972 and Hans Lundgren has been its conductor during the last 30 years. It is a part of the Music Department of Linköping University, a university with just about 30.000 students. The University Chorus tours regularly abroad and has besides the Scandinavian countries among others also visited Great Britain, Spain, the US, South Africa and Jordan.
