1. What did you study?I was studying business studies like Intercultural business communication, Corporate strategy, also Swedish for Intercultural students and Intercultural communications.
2. Why did you choose to study in Sweden?Sweden attracted me by its developed educational system, high standard of living and its unique culture.
3. What are your main impressions about university studies in Sweden?All system in university is very democratic and liberal, no sense of pressure only interesting and beneficial way of learning.
4. What’s your opinion about the educational quality at Swedish universities?Educational level is really high and education system is well developed, fair.
5. Was it easy to adjust to the Swedish educational system?Yes it was quite easy because in Lithuania educational system is more difficult and less flexible and liberal. 6. According to you, what is the major difference between being a student in Lithuania compared to Sweden?In Sweden it is easier to be a student than in Lithuania. The way of teaching and learning is more effective and less stressful.
7. What are the main benefits of studying in Sweden?You can see what in general educational system should be and feel the benefits of it. Besides, as a foreign student you can gain more open-minded and democratic point of view.
8. Did you experience any problems because of cultural differences? Actually I haven’t maybe because Lithuania is not so different or maybe because Swedes are really kind and gentle people.
9. Did you find your financial situation difficult while studying in Sweden?Because of big difference between Lithuanian and Swedish standard of living it was necessary to save money although the scholarship was 500 euros.
10. What is your experience in dealing with Swedish authorities?I didn’t have any problems with this.
11. How did you arrange your housing? I was living in student dormitory provided by university for international students. I have arranged it before coming to Sweden by contacting people responsible for housing in the university.
12. Did you stay in a student hall or in an apartment ?I had single room in a student dormitory.
13. How was your contact with other Swedish and other international students?It was normal just need to be tolerant and communicative. Swedish students were really friendly and helpful.
14. Did you find it straightforward to use the English language in Sweden? In general Swedes are talking English very good and they understand you although you are not so fluent in English. I was trying to use richer vocabulary as much as possible to express my self in right way.
15. What was your experience of Swedish culture during your stay?Swedish people are quite cold and close but if you try to contact with them so they are really friendly, patient and kind. They care about their culture and how foreigners should become familiar with it. Younger people are liberal, broad-minded, like partying and spending free time in active way.
16. Would you recommend other Lithuanians to study in Sweden?Yes, of course because it is really worth to see how the system is different in Sweden and how it is more efficient to gain more knowledge there, as well as meeting and communicating with polite and friendly Swedes.
17. How would you like to stay in touch with Sweden in the future?I would like to gain my master degree in Sweden or even maybe find a permanent job there in the future.
18. Is there anything you would like to add, advice to other students.I just would like to add that if I have another chance to choose there to go to study I would definitely choose Sweden :)
