Asta Kupšytė studied Library and information science at the University College of Borås.

1.  Why did you choose to study in Sweden ?
 Because this country is well known for higher education and its well developed libraries.

2. What are your main impressions about university studies in Sweden?
I have really good opinion about studies in Sweden, I liked university, courses and libraries a lot, it was a good experience for me.

3. What's your opinion about the educational quality at Swedish universities?
The quality is really high compared to Lithuania's.

4. Was it easy to adjust to the Swedish educational system?
It was a bit difficult only in the beginning, but there were a lot of people who were always ready to give help.

5. According to you, what is the major difference between being a student in Lithuania compared to Sweden?
In Sweden the student is more important, teacher give more space, freedom. But students there are more motivated than in Lithuania, they themselves want and do more for their studies.

6. What are the main benefits of studying in Sweden?
It is really good and useful to see different country, culture and educational system. After studies there people can start thinking about changing some things in Lithuania.

7. Did you experience any problems because of cultural differences?
No, I didn't have problems with that.

8. Did you find your financial situation difficult while studying in Sweden?
I didn't have financial problems when studied in Sweden because I got a grant from my university. But I could not afford quite a lot of things because the prices are high.

9. What is your experience in dealing with Swedish authorities?
I had to write a letter for the Swedish Migration Board, to send them documents after living there 3 months for permission.

10. How did you arrange your housing?
I lived in a student house, I booked my room through a web page sent by university coordinator.

11. Did you stay in a student hall or in an apartment?
I lived in a student house.

12. How was your contact with other Swedish and other international students?
I had better relations with international students, but Swedish people were friendly and communicative too. Maybe not so open and friendly from first side, but now I have some good Swedish friends too.

13. Did you find it straightforward to use the English language in Sweden?
Yes, there were no problems to speak in English, because most of the people in Sweden speak English fluently.

14. What was your experience of Swedish culture during your stay?
I visited some museums, traditional markets, old towns of some cities. I got quite a lot information from libraries and communication with people.

15. Would you recommend other Lithuanians to study in Sweden?
Yes, I strongly recommend other students to go to study in Sweden. I will be great opportunity for them to see different world, culture and so on.

16. How would you like to stay in touch with Sweden in the future?
I would like to study there once more, maybe after getting a bachelor, as well as to travel there more.

17. Is there anything you would like to add, advice to other students.
Dear student, if there is any possibility for you to study in Sweden use it without any doubts. You will meet friendly people, experience new culture and will see beautiful nature.
