Application for Residence and Work Permits from the Philippines

As of 16 June, 2008, you can book interviews for residence and work permits in Manila. Interviews will take place at the Consulate General in Manila starting 1 July, 2008.

Please Note!

From 20 May 2011 Residence permit cards will be introduced which means that Filipino applicants need to visit The Swedish Embassy in Bangkok to leave biometrics.

Residence permit cards

All EU countries will introduce a residence permit card (UT-card) by 20 May this year. The cards will replace the current stickers and keep the same safety standards as passports.

The purpose of residence cards is that they will be safer than today's stickers. The cards will have a chip with the holder's biometrics in the form of a photo and of two fingerprints.

UT-cards will have the same format as an ordinary credit card. They will be issued for all forms of residence. Each card will carry the title RESIDENCE on the language of the country that issued the card. The cards are valid for five years.

EU countries have jointly decided that UT-cards are introduced and the rules of the cards are same throughout the EU.

For more information about UT-cards, read the Factsheet UT-cards and Residence Permit Cards- Frequently Asked Questions, on the right margin. Or visit The Migration Board's website
