Tuesday – Saturday 12 noon – 6pm
Wednesday 5pm – 9pm
Sunday 10am – 6pm

The Norwegian Seamen's Church and SKUT (Svenska Kyrkan i Utlandet) is open for all Scandinavians residing in, or visiting Southern California. The Church serves as a little piece of Scandinavia, sharing the languages, the culture, the traditions and the faith. The Church offers a wide variety of activities and services, both in Swedish and Norwegian.

Church Service in Swedish

The last Sunday of every month there is a Swedish church service followed by coffee. All other Sundays the Norwegian Church services.

In May, no Swedish Church Service is held. Instead, the Swedish National holiday is celebrated the Sunday closest to June 6. The celebration is commenced with a Swedish Sunday mass.

Swedish Evening

Tuesday´s at 7 pm "svensk afton" with singing, mingling, and once a month, screening of a Swedish movie.

Activities for Children

"Kyrkans Barntimmar," is geared toward children from 3 years of age and upward and their parents at the Seamen´s Church every Friday at 2pm. There is also a "Kyrkans Barntimma" on the Saturday prior to the monthly Sunday service at the Lutheran Church in Santa Monica.  For further information you can call the number below.

For people who like to sing

Wednesdays – between 7 pm to 9 pm the vocal group  practices e.g. gospel and also more modern styles of music. Participants range from people in their twenties to people over seventy - all sharing the joy of singing.

Saturdays at 10 am, the day before the last Sunday of every month, the vocal group also has rehearsal. Everyone is welcome to participate in any of these vocal groups; the main thing is that you like to sing.

Other Facilities and Daily Activities at the Church

The Church offers coffee and waffles and some of the major Scandinavian daily’s. We also have a Scandinavian library with about 5,000 books, a pool table and a beautiful swimming pool.
