About the Consulate General

The mission of the Consulate General – besides providing Consular services – is to promote Sweden and Swedish interests and to contribute to the establishment of links between Swedish and American companies, universities and other institutions within the fields of information technology, science, art, design, theater, new media – including film and entertainment – and sustainable development/environment.

The mission of the Consulate is carried out in close cooperation with the Swedish Office of Science and Technology, the Swedish Trade Council, Invest in Sweden Agency and Visit Sweden.

The Consulate arranges several cultural events and promotional activities annually, focusing on Sweden and Swedish creativity, productivity, innovativeness and awareness. The events are organized either by the Consulate General or by the Consulate in cooperation with other organizations, Swedish and American.

Further, the Consulate offers Swedish citizens certain consular services, such as providing passports and assistance in cases of emergency. The Consulate also assists citizens of the United States and other countries to obtain visas and permits for travelling and working in Sweden.

Swedish Honorary Consulates are located in San Francisco (Consulate General), San Diego, Anchorage, Denver, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Seattle.

The Consulate General of Sweden in Los Angeles, is located in the Tower Building in Westwood, 10940 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 700.

The Consular Reception is open Monday - Thursday  2.00 pm – 4.00 pm,  Friday closed.
