Study in Sweden

If you are planning to study in Sweden, the web site Studyinsweden.se is your one-stop information centre for higher education studies in Sweden. The purpose of Studyinsweden.se is to provide international students wishing to study in Sweden with a convenient and comprehensive information resource. It contains general information on the opportunities open to international students, admission procedures and other practical details.

The service is designed for students at all levels. It provides information on undergraduate courses, Master's programmes and opportunities for researchers.

Residence permits for students

You can apply for a residence permit if you are going to study in Sweden for more than 3 months. Please submit your complete application (see below) at least two months before the studies are due to start.

The easiest way to apply is to do it electronically:

Please submit the following with your application:

  • Properly filled in application form
  • Receipt of paid application fee of 270 TRY paid to the Embassy bank account TR89 0006 2000 1070 0006 2993 16 in Garantibank.
  • Acceptance letter or similar from your school/university.
  • Financial statement ie a bank document in your name verifying that you have funds to pay for your stay in Sweden. At present this is SEK 7300 per month. For six months studies you will need 6 * 7300 SEK = 43 800 SEK. For one year of studies you will need funds covering 10 months, ie SEK 73000.
  • Scholarship letter (if any)
  • Travel and health insurance for the full duration of your stay in Sweden.
