Study Swedish in Hong Kong – Swedish Public Courses

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures offers a Certificate in Swedish. The Certificate Programme in Swedish lasts three years and comprises three main courses of 120 hours each. Each main course is further divided into three sessions of 40 hours each. The first session of each main course starts in October every year (subject to a minimum number of students to open a class) and enrollment starts in September.

The objective of the Certificate programme is to equip the students with both a practical training in the spoken language and a good linguistic foundation of the language. Students will be able to comprehend a wide variety of literary and oral materials upon completion of the Certificate programme. Students will also gain insight and appreciation of Swedish culture and society.

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures will issue a Statement of Attendance to students who maintain a course attendance record of 80% or above over all three terms in any level. Students may sit for oral and written examinations after the intermediate and advanced levels respectively and will be awarded a Statement of Proficiency or Certificate in Swedish.
