Visa for visiting friends or relatives

Please note that all documents are required at the same time, or your application will not be accepted.

• Visa application form, completed, signed and dated.
  
  
• Appendix D: Family Appendix for Applicants.
  
  
• Written invitation in Swedish or English. The invitation should contain information about the date and duration of the visit.
  
  
• When visiting friends in Sweden the Referee's Appendix (Appendix E) should be used and can be downloaded from the Migration Boards Website.

• When visiting friends in Norway the “Invitation and guarantee declaration” should be used and can be downloaded at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration’s Website:

• Passport or other travel document, valid for at least a further three months after the end of the trip. If you require a re-entry permit from the Irish Authorities this permit must be valid for a further three months after your return from the Schengen Area.
  
  
• A airplane booking/travel itinerary.
  
  
• Evidence of occupation/student status.
  
  
• Evidence that you have sufficient funds to support yourself during your stay the Schengen area by presenting bank statements for the last three months (in your own name).
  
  
• A valid, personal travel insurance which covers costs for
  – emergency treatment by a doctor
  – urgent ambulance transportation
  – transportation back to applicant's home country if required for medical reasons.
  The insurance must cover at least 30,000 Euro and be valid in all Schengen states and cover the total length of stay.
  
  
• Parental consent is required for minors.

Your entry visa must be entered in your passport before your arrival in the Schengen Area.
