Visa for visiting Sweden

Information in Thai can be found in the documents to the right on this page. In order to travel to Sweden, Thai citizens need a Schengen visa. A Schengen visa is a permission to travel in and around the Schengen countries for a shorter period of time. The purpose of the visit could be to visit friends or family, tourist visit, business visit, take part in a conference or for transit. A Schengen visa can be granted for a maximum of 90 days. Getting a visa from one of the Schengen countries means that you may also travel into any of the other countries who are part of the agreement. If you are planning to stay longer than 90 days you must apply for the required Residence permit (Visit, Student or Work).

For more information, please see Schengen Visa Information.

Step-by-step guide to getting your visa

1) Make an Appointment

In order to submit a visa application you should first make an appointment to visit the Embassy. Such appointments can be done through our Call Center: telephone number 1900 222 202 (valid only for calls within Thailand). Calls will be charged at 9 Baht per minute.

The operator who will assist in making the appointment will speak either English or Thai. The operator will also be able to answer questions regarding what documents are required as well as assist with contact details for the Embassy.

2) Fill out all Necessary Forms for your Visa Application

Find your relevant form to the right on this page. Make sure to acquire all necessary documents and to fill out the visa application form.

3) Pay your visa application fee and receive a receipt of the payment.

4) Submit your Visa Application to the Embassy

Only applicants who have made an appointment will be given admittance to the relevant Visa Section of the Embassy. Should an applicant fail to appear at the appointed time, a new appointment must be made. The application will be registered and a check made that all necessary supporting documentation has been provided. Remember to bring the receipt which shows that your visa application fee has been paid. For current fee see Application Fee in the margin on your right.

If the application is incomplete, or if necessary supporting documentation has not been provided, the application can be rejected in which case the application fee is not refundable

5) Pick up your passport and visa

If your application has been granted you (or person appointed by you) can usually pick up your passport after about 7 days. The applicant is informed by the Embassy at the time of submission of the application when passport and visa can be collected.

Visa agencies

Please note that the Embassy is located on the 20th floor at One Pacific Place. There are several private companies in the same building charging an additional fee for their services to visa applicants. The Embassy has no link to these companies and the applicants are free to chose if they want to use the services of a company or deal directly with the Embassy. The applications must however always be submitted personally by the applicant. Applications are treated without any priority given to applicants using a visa agency.
