I'm From Barcelona: A Swedish Indie Pop Orchestra on U.S. Tour

I'm From Barcelona, a 29-member Swedish indie pop orchestra, will converge on the New York City area for two shows at the end of April.

I'm From Barcelona is an indie pop ensemble that was founded by Emanuel Lundgren in the Swedish town of Jönköping in 2005.  The band consists of 29 members, equipped with an eclectic mix of instruments such as clarinets, saxophones, flutes, trumpets, banjos, accordions, kazoos, guitars, drums and keyboards.  I'm From Barcelona embraces a do-it-yourself mentality, making it hard to distinguish where the band ends and the audience begins.

Following a home-recorded EP and a live performance in 2005, I'm From Barcelona released the EP Don't Give Up on Your Dreams, Buddy! and the full-length album Let Me Introduce My Friends in 2006.

The band plays at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ, on April 25 before heading west to the Coachella music festival in southern California.  A week later, they pass through New York once again to headline a show at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple in Fort Greene on May 1.
