The new generation of Swedish film makers has been internationally praised and rewarded several prestigious nominations and awards. The last decade’s trend in Swedish film has been a multicultural perspective, created by new talented authors and filmmakers embraced by the Swedish audience. Another recent trend is a rural setting, portraying life in the countryside. Children’s film has held a strong position in Sweden since the 1950’s, and juvenile’s film has proliferated in recent years.
Swedish film is indeed varying and has something to offer everyone. Enjoy the Film Smorgasbord at the Swedish Film Festival 2008!
