Visa for visiting Sweden

If you are a Canadian citizen with a Canadian passport and would like to travel to Sweden for a simple visit (tourism or business travel etc.) and your stay will not exceed 90 days, you do not require a visa.

SCHENGEN VISA
The Schengen area consists of 25 countries (see list on right) who have agreed on common visa rules. This means that a visa issued by one of the member states is also valid for travel to all the other member states (exceptions might apply, and will be stated on your visa sticker).

* PLEASE NOTE *
Based on an agreement between the Nordic countries, the processing of Schengen visa applications in Canada for travellers going to Sweden are handled by the Embassy of Denmark in Ottawa.

Information about Schengen visas and how to apply (Embassy of Denmark website)

People applying for a Schengen visa can hand in their application either at the Embassy of Denmark in Ottawa or at one of the Danish Consulates around Canada.
