UNIFEM, Arab Women Parliamentarians
UNIFEM receives support for a project on "Arab Women Parliamentarians" The overall objective of the project is to facilitate the empowerment of Arab women parliamentarians to act as agents of change through their transformative participation in political processes and to foster an appropriate political climate needed to achieve gender equality in all aspects of national development.
The Immediate Objectives of the project will be:
Establishment and functioning of an Arab Women Parliamentarians’ Forum (AWPF);
Gender sensitization of Arab Parliamentarians; and
Establishment and functioning of national incubators for prospective Arab women leaders.
