On the import side, Sweden together with its EU-partners gives special treatment within the framework of the Generalized System of Preferences. Swedish development aid agencies directly support efforts to increase imports from certain developing countries. On the export side, the country has taken steps in the field of export financing and general export promotion. The government accords high priority to official contacts aimed at promoting trade and investment.
