Business visit

In order to visit Sweden you may need an entry visa. Information regarding visa application requirements for business people; participants of scientific, cultural and artistic events, including university and other exchange programmes; sport competitors; journalists and professional drivers is presented on this page.

A full set of documents is required for each applicant regardless of age of the person (including minor children entered in their parents' passports) when applying for a visa.
Visa application can be submitted not earlier than 3 months before the scheduled visit.

(only for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina)
According to the EU-BiH visa facilitation agreement only the mentioned documents are required to justify the purpose of the journey for the certain categories of persons listed below. However, it does not mean a waiver of the submission of the visa application and the supporting documents.

Documents required

For business people, participants of scientific, cultural, sport and artistic activities, including university and other exchange programmes:

  • A written request from the inviting legal party containing:
    -full name and address of the inviting legal party
    -name and position of the person signing the request
    -registration number for companies based in the EU Member States.
    -name, surname, citizenship, number of the identity document, period and purpose of the visit, number of entries for the invited party. For business trips the invitation from Sweden shall be approved by the Chamber of Commerce in BiH.

For journalists:

  • a certificate issued by a professional organisation which proves the applicant is a journalist
  • a document from the employer stating that the purpose of the visit is journalistic work

Note!
Freelance journalists are not included in the EU-BiH visa facilitation agreement.

For drivers
(For drivers, conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services, travelling to the EU Member States):

  • a copy of the driver's licence and information about the vehicle
  • a written request from the Chamber of Commerce BiH, stating the purpose, duration and frequency of the trips, and a permit.

For members of official delegations:

  • a letter from the BiH authority confirming that the applicant is a member of the official delegation (the original)
  • a copy of the official invitation

For participants of conferences:

  • A written invitation from the host organisation with information about the invited person

and

  • application for Schengen visa
    completed, dated and signed twice
  • appendix D
  • passport or other travel document valid for at least three months after the scheduled return and a copy of the passport
  • proof of sufficient financial means to support yourself during your stay (not less than 40 EUR or 370 SEK per day)
  • medical insurance, valid in all Schengen states with a coverage amount of at least 30000 EUR - in case of a single visit the insurance should cover the whole period of stay
    -for multiple visas the insurance should cover at least the first visit
    The insurance could be provided by the inviting party in Sweden. This information should be mentioned in the invitation letter and a copy of the policy has to be attached.
