About the Embassy

The mission of the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo is to represent Sweden and to promote Swedish interests in Egypt.

The Embassy is charged with sustaining and developing relations between Sweden and Egypt within a wide range of political, commercial, economic and cultural matters of mutual interest. Furthermore, the Embassy is responsible for the consular protection of Swedish nationals who are residing in or visiting Egypt.

Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday 09h00 – 12h00

Telephone hours:

Telephone hours for inquiries regarding visa matters and to get an appointment for giving in an application for a residence permit:
Sunday to Thursday 11h00 – 12h00 

Applications for Swedish passports and collection of issued passports:
Monday and Wednesday 09h00 – 11h00

The Embassy is closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

New Application Centre for visa applications
As from 2 October it is no longer possible to submit a visa application directly to the Embassy without prior appointment. In order to improve efficiency in handing visa applications, a Swedish Visa Application Centre has opened at TLScontact.

For visa applications given in directly to the Embassy before 30 September 2011, passports with issued visas can be collected at the Embassy
