As of January 1, 2008, all passport applicants in Canada MUST be digitally photographed on site at the Embassy at the time of the application. In conjunction, applications may no longer be submitted at the honorary consulates. Passport applicants must apply in person at the Embassy in Ottawa.

Different instructions and requirements apply for:

Children or other applicants who do not already have a Swedish passport must be added to the Swedish population register before applying.

The application fee is $76 and must be paid in cash or money order, payable to the Embassy of Sweden

The new passport may be picked up at any Swedish consulate in Canada.  For pick-up of the new passport at a consular location there is a shipping fee of $19  (payable at time of application) and an additional processing fee of $12 (payable at pick-up).
