At the Vancouver Aquarium the Swedish Embassy, together with the University of British Columbia and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, is organizing a public seminar on the topic The Nature of the Species in 2007.
Canadian and Swedish scientists will discuss the species concept and the binomial system for naming living organisms, created by Linnaeus, in relation to modern genetic ways of distingushing one species from another.
