Linnaeus celebrations in Newfoundland and Labrador

This years Mushroom Foray organized by the Humber Natural History Society in Newfoundland and Labrador will pay tribute to Carl Linnaeus.

As part of the annual mushroom foray, held from September 28 - 30 outside St John's, NL a special Linnaeus Tercentenary Panel Discussion will be held on the topic "Concepts around the species concept". The discussions will focus on the aplication of Linnaeus' binomial system for naming living organisms to mushrooms, in relation not only to traditional criteria, such as the shape of a species, but also to modern genetic studies.
