Visa for visiting Sweden

Documentation needed when applying for a Swedish Schengen visa.

The following documents in original are required when applying for a visa:

Documents from the inviting person in Sweden:

A signed guarantee letter on the form “Referentbilaga E” not older than three months. The form can be collected from a Swedish Migration Board office, or at the web page of the Swedish Migration Board www.migrationsverket.se or at the Swedish Embassy in Skopje. It can also be downloaded under Links to your right.

Each visa applicant should present a separate original sample of “Referentbilaga” E .
This also applies for couples and children even if they are travelling together.

If the inviting person pays for the applicant's costs, he/she must also submit his/her salary specification ("lönespecifikation").

1. A birth certificate ("personbevis") for each sibbling, child or parent living in Sweden (can be ordered from the Swedish Tax Board) not older that three months.

Documents which the applicant should enclose together with the visa application form:

1. One colour photo, not older than 6 months.

2. Passport with a minimum of 3 months of validity after the expiry date of the requested visa, and a copy of the first (photo) page of the passport and other pages containing stamps or previous visas.

3. For family/relative visits: Proof of  family relations hip with the invintng person in Sweden (birth certificate - original not older than six months, or a certified copy). If the applicant wants to visit his children in Sweden he should submit their birth certificates.

4. Certificate of approval from both parents of children under 18 years, in case the children apply alone or with only one of the parents.

5. Individual medical travel insurance that should cover:
- the costs that can occur in connection with a medical emergency  and/or urgent hospital treatment,

- cost of return to the home country due to medical reasons,

- the insurance should be valid in the whole Schengen territory, all EU countries as well as Switzerland and Liechtenstein,

 - the insurance should cover the whole time of the validity of the  visa and cover expenses of a minimum of 30.000 Euros. At the time of  submitting the visa application the original insurance  document should be shown and a copy should be attached to the  application.

The Embassy recommends that the applicant chooses an insurance company which will reimburse the insurance fee in case the visa should not be granted.

VISA FACILITATION AGREEMENT WITH MACEDONIA

A Visa Facilitation Agreement between the European Community and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia¹, entered into force on 1 January 2008.

This means new rules for issuance of Schengen visas for certain groups of Macedonian citizens.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION NEEDED FOR:

Employed people
•  Certificate from the employer, leave certificate and a recent employment certificate M1/M2 in original, certified/stamped by a relevant authority.

Farmers
• Certificate for agriculture,
• Receipt from the last paid income tax.

Truck drivers.
• Drivers licence should be presented in original and a copy should be attached to the application.
• A written request from the Macedonian National Association (union) of carriers. It should state the purpose, duration and frequency of the trips,
• CMR,
• Driving schedule,
• Invitation letter from Sweden in original,
• Introduction letter from employer in original,
Macedonians should also present the M1/M2 certificate - original and copy,
• Registration certificate of the transport company,  
• Registration certificate for the truck.

Entrepreneurs
• Registration of the company,
• Receipt from the last paid income tax.

Retirees
• Certificate from the last pension received.

Students
• Original of the student certificate or a student ID should be presented and a copy should be attached to the application.

Pupils
• Certificate from the school, agreement from the principal for the absence of the pupil if the travel is planned during school time.

Persons with no income, students, juveniles and housewifes 
• Certificate that proofs the way of self sustenance for example parents income for the last three months, who is going to pay for the trip and the stay( usually explained by the referee  in the  “Referentbilaga E”  form)

Official trip
• Original invitation from the Swedish company stating the purpose of the visit and the dates of the stay in Sweden.
This invitation should be sent directly to the visa applicant, not to the Embassy.

• Certificate from the employer, decision for a duty trip, M1/M2 or registration of company and taxation certificate for private companies.

Transit travellers
• Valid visa for the country of destination, travel schedule and ticket reservation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN APPLYING

• The application fee is 35 Euros in MKD according to the current Consular Fees list (see docuemnt under related files to your right) irrespecitve of the length of the  validity of the visa or the number of entries. The fee should be paid at Tutunska Banka - account number:

210-7020000704-90 

• The fee should be paid in the bank a few days before the submission of the application, if the payment is not done in the Head office of Tutunska Banka on 12 Udarna Brigada bb. where the payment can be done the same day. The original receipt should be given in to the Embassy when applying. Note, that the fee is paid for each and every application (not passport).

• The application fees are not refunded in case the visa is not granted.

• The applicants are requested to answer to all the questions in the form as detailed as possible, since the decision is taken upon the stated information.

• The applicants should fill out their cell phone number in the form (his/her own number or someone else’s) where the Embassy could reach them if any further information should be needed when handling the case.

• Keep in mind that the signing of the application means that all the information is correct and complete. Pay attention especially in case that someone else is helping you filling out the forms.

• NOTE! The Embassy has no cooperation whatsoever with the persons outside the embassy who offer their services to fill out the forms or copy the documents for a considerable amount of money.

• Every individual case is evaluated separately and is not to be compared with any other case.

• Please apply for the visa on reasonable time before the planned travel. However, you can not apply more than three month in advance before the planned trip to the Schengen area.
 
• The submitted documents are not to be given back.

• The granting of a visa is not guaranteed even if all  requested documents are submitted and the Embassy reserves itself the right to request for additional documents if necessary.

• All applicants are requested to show up in person when applying .

• In case that several persons are applying as a group (e.g. group trips for sports clubs, cultural associations and similar) the common documents for all participants (for e.g. invitation, travel insurance, membership certificate) should be copied and attached to each single application.

Information related to the issuing of visa can be obtained at the Embassy’s answering machine 24 hours a day in the above stated telephone number.

Please fill out the forms readably with print letters and blue pen. It is desirable if the forms  are filled out in Swedish or English.
