Nordic Noir: Swedish Authors on U.S. Tour

Four award-winning Swedish authors, all recognized for their unique and riveting crime fiction, introduce new U.S. releases in the spring of 2007 and embark on a North American tour.

The four authors – Kjell Eriksson, Inger Frimansson, Håkan Nesser and Helene Tursten – will be featured in an evening of reading and discussion at Scandinavia House on April 19.

The authors will read selections from their latest U.S. releases and participate in a discussion about their work and the genre of Swedish crime fiction.  The program will be moderated by Maggie Topkis, co-founder of the Partners & Crime bookstore in Greenwich Village, and will be followed by a reception and book signing.

Kjell Eriksson is the author of The Cruel Stars of the Night, translated by Ebba Segerberg and published by St. Martin's Minotaur / Thomas Dunne Books. 

Inger Frimansson is the author of Good Night, My Darling, translated by Laura Wideburg and published by Caravel Books, an imprint of Pleasure Boat Studio: A Literary Press. 

Håkan Nesser is the author of the acclaimed Van Veeteren mystery series, which includes The Return, translated by Laurie Thompson and published by Pantheon Books. 

Helene Tursten is the author of The Glass Devil, translated by Katarina E. Tucker and published by Soho Crime, an imprint of Soho Press.
