Sweden Puts a Spin on the Music Biz!*

Innovations & Challenges: From Distribution to Downloading to Breaking a Band.

The Consulate General of Sweden in Los Angeles in collaboration with Export Music Sweden is proud to present its first annual Music Industry Seminar in Los Angeles on Saturday April 28, 2007 as part of Beyond Blond: Swedish Lifestyle Month

The seminar, which will feature panelists from both Sweden and the US, will focus on several different areas including the Swedish Pop Factory phenomenon, breaking bands in the US and intellectual property rights, as well as presenting the latest acts and producers coming out of Sweden.

Later in the evening there will be an exclusive live performance by Jennie Abrahamson – one of  Sweden’s most talented new artists at the residence of the Swedish Consulate General in Santa Monica.

A presentation of some of the hottest bands and recent Swedish song writing and production success around the world. Presented by: Göran Carlsson and Eva Botmar of STIM
 
2.10 – 3.10 pm Sweden´s Pop Factory

• Why and how do Swedish studios/producers appeal to big clients?
• What makes Sweden and the Swedish music scene so unique?
• Are there any countries challenging Sweden´s prominence? If so, how do we stay on top?
