Four Weeks in June by Henry Meyer at the New York Jewish Film Festival

The New York Jewish Film Festival at Lincoln Center will feature the New York premiere of Four Weeks in June by Swedish director Henry Meyer.

Four Weeks in June is Henry Meyer's third feature film and features nuanced performances by Tuva Novotny – one of Sweden's brightest young stars – and celebrated Danish actress Ghita Nørby.

The plot follows Sandra, a troubled young woman, as she develops an unexpected friendship with Lilly, a secretive Holocaust survivor who lives in the same apartment building in an unnamed Swedish town.  Although Lilly bears the memory of forbidden love during wartime, she encourages Sandra to open herself up to the attentions of a handsome worker from Poland.  The result is a heartwarming film about the complexities of love and the bridging of generations.

In Swedish and English, with English subtitles.  112 min.
