Alexander Klingspor at Arcadia Fine Arts

Arcadia Fine Arts in SoHo presents a solo exhibition featuring Swedish artist Alexander Klingspor from November 16-30, 2006.

Born in 1977, Alexander Klingspor is a Swedish painter whose stark and evocative portraits expose the shadowy underbelly of the human condition.  From dimly lit rooms and alleyways to the somber personalities of his subjects, Klingspor's canvases represent scenarios of modern-day noir.

Rather than the soft protracted light of Nordic summers, Klingspor's color palette and sense of composition is influenced by the cold austerity of winter.  Neither political nor religious, Klingspor's paintings are both reflections of his own experience and windows onto entirely different places, intriguing, amazing, perhaps frightening and, hopefully, giving a new perspective to reality.
