Dag Hammarskjöld, Secretary General of the United Nations 1953-1961, is one of the most admired and respected international leaders of the 20th century. The Swedish Institute Alexandria is proud to arrange an exhibition (28 April - 5 May, 2005) on him and his work.

During these days of the exhibition, SwedAlex is also putting together academic seminars dealing with the past, present and future work of the UN. The seminars are open for the public and will go on for two days (4-5 May) in the West Hall of BA. Among the speakers are Prof. Hassan Nafaa from Cairo University, Prof. Ove Bring from Stockholm University and Amb.Youssef Sharara from the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs.
