The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Swedish Museum of Textile History and the Swedish Institute (Stockholm), are organizing an exhibition entitled "Tutankhamun's Wardrobe: A Reconstruction of the Textiles of Tutankhamun's Treasure".
H.E. Stig Elvemar, Ambassador of Sweden and Dr Ismail Serageldin, Director Bibliotheca Alexandrina will inaugurate the exhibition on Wednesday 29 March 2006, at 7:00 pm.
A collection of ancient artifacts show the unique cultural heritage of a particular nation. Textile works in particular are often subject to destruction and deterioration. How can we preserve the textile cultural heritage? This is the main reason of this exhibition.
