How to apply for Sida International Training Programmes in Sweden

1. The list of the courses can be found at the Embassy’s website under International Training Programme. The applicant is requested to download the application form of the course, which he/she wishes to attend. The applicant fills in the form, which will then be scanned and emailed to the ITP Programme Officer at the Embassy, Mr. Pham Nguyen Ha at ha.pham-nguyen@foreign.ministry.se.

The applicant also has to send the original copy of his/her application form to the Embassy. Deadlines for sending application must be at least 4 weeks before the deadlines stated in the brochure of each individual course.

Application forms delivered to the Embassy in hard copy are also accepted.

The applications forms should be:
- Completed in English
- Included with official nomination including signature and stamp of direct employers.
- Attached with recent applicant’s photo

Please note that applicants from Vietnam will be eligible for Global Programmes and ITPs in Asia.

2. Based on the agreement between the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), hard copies of information brochures with application forms  will be forwarded to relevant ministries, organizations, institutions, universities, corporations and NGO’s under both public and private sectors in Vietnam. The application procedures are the same as mentioned above. 

3. An English test will be arranged by the Embassy for all applicants, unless the applicants can provide other documentation to support his/ her ability such as: TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge Certificates. Proficiency in English may also be acquired in other ways; through
• Higher academic studies (minimum 6 months) where English was the medium of instruction
• Overseas postings in Anglophone countries, or if
• English is the working language in the applicants’ organisation

The documentation is to be sent together with application form.

The language institute for English testing selected by the Embassy will inform applicants by e- mail or telephone about time and venue for English test. The institute will inform the test results to applicants.

4. Selection process will be done in Sweden by the Programme Organizer. All applicants are informed of the selection result. As a general rule, one can only participate in one training programme during his/ her professional career.

5. Costs for participation and accommodation are covered. Participants take responsibility for their own personal expenses.
Costs for international travel to and from Sweden are normally not financed. However, based on the agreement between the Embassy of Sweden and the MPI, there is exception where airfare is financed for those, who are civil servants working non- production and administrative sectors sponsored by state budget.
