Swedish Peek-a-Boo Puppet Theater (Dockteatern Tittut), the world's foremost puppet theater for pre-schoolers, returns to Scandinavia House after its sold-out performance of Little Tiger and Little Bear earlier this year. Based on Ivar Arosenius' classic story, The Cat's Journey transports you to an enchanting world where color, light, and shapes shift and shimmer, and shadows come magically alive. In this whimsical animated odyssey with more than 40 shadow puppets, the little girl Lillian and her cat set out on an adventurous journey guaranteed to send kids into a fit of giggles. They chase and get chased, cross a fish-filled stream, and meet up with every animal imaginable! The show was praised by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as "children's theater at its most elemental, storytelling that conjures light, motion and sound out of the darkness to create a world that is at once familiar and yet completely new."The performances are in English and the show is intended for children 2 to 5 years old.The Cat's Journey by Peek-a-Boo Puppet Theater Scandinavia House58 Park Avenue at 38th Street, New York CityNovember 1, 2005, at 10:30 am and 2 pmFree admissionAges 2-5For more information: www.scandinaviahouse.orgImage: courtesty of Dockteatern Tittut
