Sida International Training Programmes (ITP)

Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida, sponsors several training programmes covering a wide range of sectors and subject themes.

These programmes aim at enhacing managerial and technical skills in partner countries and cover subjects of strategic importance to economic and social development.

Special emphasis is placed on areas which Sweden has a considerable level of expertise to offer. Most programmes concern the fields of transport, communications, energy, environmental protection and industry. A number of training programmes cover the social sector, for instance health and human rights.

Participation

Programmes are open to candidates from developing countries. Nominations for each programme are assesed on individual merits and the most qualified candidates are selected. Training programmes are designed for experienced executives in middle and top management positions. Minimum qualifications are university degree or equivalent knowledge gained in other ways and relevant working experience.

Some programmes have a global intake  and some are directed to specific region.
