About the Embassy

The Embassy of Sweden in Tanzania represents the Swedish government in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Embassy's overall mission is to strengthen the relations between Sweden and Tanzania, both government to government, and between citizens, companies and organisations in the two countries.

Our consular section has the responsibility to assist both Swedish citizens who are visiting Tanzania, and Tanzanian citizens who wish to visit Sweden.

In the area of commerce and trade, the Embassy encourages exchanges between Sweden and Tanzania and assists companies from the two countries in finding new partners and possibilities for trade and investment.

The Embassy is also responsible for the development cooperation between Sweden and Tanzania, which is aimed at supporting Tanzania's reform process, reducing poverty and promoting development towards democracy and increased respect for the human rights.
