Visa Applications for Family Members to EU/EEA Citizens

If you are a third country citizen liable to visa restrictions for entering Sweden (http://www.ud.se/content/1/c6/01/35/31/b8852bb1.doc) and relative of an EU/EEA-citizen staying in or travelling to Sweden and belong to any of the following categories, you apply for entry visa to Schengen under simplified conditions:

• Husband/wife
• Registered partner
• Children under 21 or older children who are financially dependent on their parents
• Parents who are financially dependent on children living in Sweden

Please note: A Swedish citizen is not regarded as EU/EEA citizen in his/her own country in the present context.

Requirements:

• A passport or other travel document, including copy, valid for at least three months after departing from the Schengen-area.
  
  
• A completed application form in Swedish or English has to be handed in personally by the applicant. The application form for a Schengen visa may be downloaded to the right. It is also available at the Embassy.
  
  
• One [1] photograph of passport style and size [35 x 45 mm] for all applicants, including minors. Your photograph must be:
  – colour photo
  – recent and of true likeness
  – showing full face
  – taken without headgear
  – head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face
  – taken against a plain, evenly lit and light background.
  
  Photographs that do not conform to these standards will be rejected and may cause delay in processing the application.

• Documentation proving that you belong to one of the categories mentioned above (marriage certificate, certificate of registration of partnership, birth certificate or other official documentation.)
  
  
• Copy of passport of the relative who is EU/EEA-citizen.

Relatives of EU/EEA citizens do not have to pay any charge for a visa application.
