Trade with Nigeria

Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation and its second largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa after South Africa. The sheer size, the economic activity and the natural endowments make Nigeria an attractive country for trade, commerce and investments. Nigeria has also experienced an impressive economic growth over the last decade, averaging 5-6 percent.

Nigeria offers huge potential for Swedish business interests. Indeed, trade between Sweden and Nigeria reached 3,35 billion SEK in 2009 making Nigeria Sweden’s second largest export market in sub-Saharan Africa. A number of Swedish companies are established in Nigeria, e.g. Ericsson, ABB, Atlas Copco, Tetra Pak, Gulf Agency Company and Sandvik, while others rely on local partners or agents.
