Sweden’s Ambassador to Kenya is also the Swedish Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-HABITAT. Consequently, the Embassy follows the activities of UNEP and UN-HABITAT and represents the Swedish government in the governing of these organisations. Primarily, this is done in the intersessional work of the Committees of Permanent Representatives (CPR).
Both UNEP and UN-HABITAT work in areas of highest priority for global development. Environment and urbanisation are two of the most important challenges in the next decade. Sweden regards UNEP and UN-HABITAT as leading organisations in their respective field of work.
