Running through June 25, 2005, Three is a musical retelling of the traditional fairytales The Three Little Pigs, The Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Written by Jeff Borkin, an Emmy-award winning children's TV writer, the production features original music and new marionettes handcrafted by master puppet maker Addis Williams. The show is primarily intended for children ages 3-9. The Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre was imported from Sweden in 1876 and became the home of a traveling puppet production company. Since 1973, when a permanent theater was constructed inside the Cottage, hundreds of thousands of children and families from around the world have enjoyed its original marionette productions. The Cottage is listed on the Historic House registry of New York City.ThreeThe Marionette Theatre at Swedish Cottage79th Street at West Drive in Central ParkFor information: www.cityparksfoundation.orgA special benefit event in support of the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2005, between 11 am and 2 pm.
