Mando Diao on U.S. Tour

The Swedish mod-influenced indie rockers Mando Diao are currently on a U.S. tour following the release of their new album "Hurricane Bar" on Mute Records.

Since starting out in 1999, Mando Diao has emerged as one of Sweden's freshest and most acclaimed indie bands, mixing the thrust of Swedish garage punk with the melodic structures and catchy choruses of 1960s British Invasion rock, along with a healthy air of self-assurance.  Their first major-label LP release, Bring 'Em In, led to successful tours across Europe, the U.S. and Japan.

Their latest album Hurricane Bar was produced by Richard Rainey, known for his work with U2, and reveals a slightly softer and melodic side of the band, while still maintaining the punchy guitar riffs of the debut.

The tour touched down at Troubadour in Los Angeles on May 10, and heads through San Diego, Denver, Austin and Dallas before swinging through the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on May 18, 2005.
