Dag Hammarskjöld

Dag Hammarskjöld, the Swedish second Secretary General of the United Nations 1953-1961, is one of the most admired and respected international leaders of the 20th century. His courage, integrity and sureness of touch communicated themselves to others in a way that made a profound impression on people all over the world. He personified the ideal of the United Nations Charter in action.

In 2005 we celebrated the Centennial of Dag Hammarskjöld's birth.
