Residence permit family re-unification – Pakistani citizens

Applications for residence permit along with the documents mentioned below must be submitted to the Embassy in Islamabad. You must book an appointment well in advance.

• 2 sets of duly completed Application Forms
(Form No. 115021 for adults and Form No. 113021 for children under 18);
• Original passport and national identity card;
• 2 copies of first two pages of the passport and 2 of national identity card;
• 2 passport size photographs. The photos must be: full face (facing the camera directly with your eyes looking straight at the camera), colour with a light background, no more than six months old and a good likeness of you, bareheaded, unless you have special religious reasons;
• 2 sets of photocopies of the Marriage Certificate both the original and the English translation (in case of family ties with husband/wife); the marriage must be registered with the authorities
• Your reference person's latest proof of identity (Personbevis), and; in case your reference is not a Swedish citizen, his/her first and complete decision of residence permit          
• Family registration records from NADRA

Note: The marriage certificate and other documents issued by Pakistani authorities must be legalised/attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan.

You will receive the date and time of your interview after the application is submitted. After your interview has taken place, your application will be forwarded to the Swedish Migration Board for a decision.

Application fee SEK 1500 for main applicant, SEK 750 each for children under 18, equivalent to Pakistani Rupees to be paid by Demand Draft (DD/Banker’s Cheque of Habib Bank Limited) favouring “Embassy of Sweden, Islamabad”

Telephone enquiries to the Embassy are restricted to: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
