Higher fee for entry visas in the new year

Please note that this amount is not refundable.

The EU has decided that all Schengen states - i.e. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden - are to increase their fees for entry visas to 60 euro from 1 January 2007.

For Sweden this means that this fee is to increase from 35 euro to 60 euro. However, certain groups will be exempted entirely or partly from this stipulation.

The following will be exempted from paying a fee:

  • children under the age of six years

  • researchers - on condition that the purpose of the visit is scientific research.

Reduced fee

Citizens of certain countries will pay a reduced fee - 35 euro - due to special agreements with the EU. This applies to citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine.
