Trade with Sweden

The trade between Sweden and Jordan is rather moderate but there is a growing interest in establishing trade contacts.

Swedish export to Jordan amounted to approximately 630 million SEK in 2008 and the import to Sweden from Jordan amounted to 42 million SEK in 2008, This is an increase in both export and import compared to previous years.

A few Swedish companies have their own branches in Jordan while many are represented via Jordanian agents.

In 2006 a Trade Delegation from the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA) visited Sweden and held meetings with Swedish counterparts, political representatives and individual companies.

In October 2008 the Swedish Minister of Trade, Ms. Ewa Björling, made a brief visit to Jordan on her way from Iraq. In mid-June 2009 Minister Björling will again visit Jordan, accompanied by the Swedish Trade Council and a Swedish trade delegation.

On assignment by the Embassy, the Swedish Trade Council has produced a sector analysis covering the a number of potentially interesting sectors in Jordan: Construction, Telecommunication, Health and Pharma and Environmental Technology Sectors.
