Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter will perform at Lincoln Center on December 18. The internationally acclaimed singer has enchanted audiences around the world with her breathtaking voice and tremendous range. She and her small ensemble of nine musicians will perform traditional Nordic songs in what promises to be a delightful Christmas concert and one of the most anticipated events of the New York holiday season.At a special holiday concert at Scandinavia House on December 11, 2004, the Scandinavian Chamber Orchestra will perform works by Arcangelo Corelli, Karl-Birger Blomdahl, and Jean Sibeluis, as well as well-known holiday favorites and traditional Christmas songs. The orchestra, led by conductor Magnus Mårtensson and pianist Per Tengstrand, is dedicated to introducing U.S. audiences to the finest classical music from the Nordic countries. Composer and producer Mika Pohjola presents Scandinavian Yuletide Voices at the Norwegian Seamen's Church (317 East 52nd Street) on December 12, 2004, at 6:30 pm.
